SARC yet again proved what a fantastic club we have by entering 5 crews into the Great River Race 2015.
Whilst we did not bring home any silverware this year, this was not through any lack of dedication and fighting spirit from everyone who took part in the event.
Special mentions have to go to Fu for organising our very own ‘Fu’s Bar’ at the campsite which included a very nice barrel of beer and even had optics for shorts and lighting for the exterior effect.
It goes without saying that it is events like this that make the club what we are. The hat of fairness produced some really good crew combinations this time. How many other clubs would consider putting what is probably their biggest team (in terms of muscle) into their slowest boat !!. The hat of fairness managed this in one go as well as putting some very balanced crews together to boot.
What really struck me about the event is that SARC is just a brilliant club to be part of. Everyone puts their all into an event and then enjoys the party afterwards (and sometimes the party beforehand if we can control Chicken..)
