This year we have devised a 2 stage time trial & bringing back the much loved “upstream” row for the 1st stage.
First stage is a 7 mile time trial upstream on the River Severn from Shrewsbury to finish at the most northerly point of The Isle Known as “North Pole”. At this marshaled location Boats turn downstream for a 2 mile “rest” row giving way to on coming race boats, allowing time for all crews to clear the second stage start point.
The second stage begins at marshaled location “Doctors One” & is a 5.5 mile time trial downstream to finish at the Pengwern Boat club in the centre of Shrewsbury. Stage times will be combined to determine class winners.
Both stages are through open countryside in all taking approx. 2.45 -4.5 hrs dependent on river & weather conditions.
