Due to popular demand from home & abroad we can announce SARC is gearing up to host its third annual race event on Saturday March 24th 2018
Format this year is a race involving two time trial legs. Times will be combined to determine overall class winners.
First leg is an upstream race from West Mid Showground to The North Pole, turn downstream for a short rest row giving way to oncoming traffic. Upon reaching Doctors one, start the second leg racing downstream to finish at the Pengwern Boat Club in the centre of Shrewsbury.
Race start at the showground is approx 11.30 with breakfast grub & beverages available during the morning.
Pengwern will then be the venue for food, race awards followed by a shin-dig with bar, DJ & live band.
We had a fantastic 25 entries for 2017 race, so hoping to top that in 2018.

Subject to interest, on the Sunday, we would like to run the short course sprint competition on the town centre river loop that we did last year, with start / finish line at Pengwern. We only need 3 boats so no faff, just great fun racing head to head with brunch etc.
Further details, requests for race support volunteers etc in due course. In the mean time book in & get training to win those trophies back!!
