Saturday the 12th December proved to be challenging conditions for our 2015 Christmas row.

A very fast river flow and at times extremely strong winds made it difficult for all of the crews on the upstream leg to Montford Bridge. One of the crews did a magnificent time of around 3 1/2 hours for the row with the other crews coming in over at over 4 hours. There had been talk of a backup plan to abandon should we be taking too long, but in true SARC spirit, everyone just agreed to get on with it and stop thinking of failure before we start.

Once at the pub, a fabulous (very late) lunch was had by all. It was great to welcome back the Amazon crew and also to see/hear what a great adventure they had on their trip. We are all very proud of them.

Commodore did a great job of thanking all of the fantastic volunteers for the club who have done a tremendous job during 2015 and we are looking forward to the new challenges of 2016, including the big Celtic row. Teams were then drawn and battle plans will now be formed.

Have a very Merry Christmas to all SARC members and families and a prosperous and Happy New Year.

Stuart
